| Stone Excavating is a family owned and operated business that has a long heritage in the excavating business. Jay's father Harold, had an excavating business that began in 1952, the same year that Jay was born. Jay learned and worked with his father until 1977. At that time Jay started his own business as J & J Excavating. J & J Excavating specialized in septic installations and repairs, as well as small site work. In 1988 Harold passed away and J & J Excavating, in memory of Harold, changed their name to Stone Excavating. | ||
| Today we
are still a small company that is service oriented. Jay's oldest
son James is employed with him, and Jay's wife, Charlotte helps with the
office.
The Stones have always been involved in the ministry of their church. Jesus ministry has impacted the way that they do business. While our handshake is our bond, we are ready also to sign a contract when requested. The company sponsors a local radio station that is a translator link for the American Family Radio of Tupelo, Mississippi. (http://www.afr.net/newafr/default.asp) Stone Excavating continues to offer the most advanced and efficient onsite waste treatment systems available. They attend seminars on new treatment options and technology on a regular basis. In 1998 Stone Excavating began using the Terralift method of repairing failed septic fields. (http://www.terralift2000.com/homeowners/whyterralift.html) This has been a real plus for homeowners who previously faced having their yards destroyed in order to install a new absorption field. The same year they recognized the need for filters in septic tanks and began installing Zoeller filters in all new systems. (http://www.zoeller.com/zcopump/products/onsite/resfilter0078.htm) In 2001 Stone Excavating began using molded polyethylene septic tanks for all systems. They will continue to maintain the highest standards of installation practice to insure a quality that exceeds the state standard.
