Stone Excavating is a family owned and operated business that has a long heritage in the excavating business. Jay's father Harold, had an excavating business that began in 1952, the same year that Jay was born. Jay worked with his father and learned the business until 1977. At that time Jay started his own business as J & J Excavating. J & J Excavating specialized in septic installation and repair, as well as small site work. In 1988 Harold passed away and in memory of Harold, the name was changed to Stone Excavating. 

Today Stone Excavating is still a small company that is service oriented. Jay's sons work with him, and his wife Charlotte helps with the office. The Stones have always been involved in the ministry of the church. Their faith has impacted the way they do business. Integrity is the key word to way they do business.
Stone Excavating has added septic pumping, drain cleaning, and portable restrooms to the line of services that they provide. They have been certified by the Indiana Onsite Wastewater Professional Association for both conventional and pump assisted septic systems. They specialize in work that involves areas that are hard to access with mini-excavators and compact track loaders. They also are equipped with mats to preserve your manicured lawn.
